physical exercise and final entry.....

This is gonna be my final entry for this health blog...

i have struggled to maintain my diet for the last ten weeks, but again i have to say even though i am doing this diet.. I almost did not feel any different from my body.. maybe I haven't feel the effect now.. i hope this diet can affect my health later on in the future.....

I just realize that physical exercise also play a big role to prevent diabetes...

thankfully that i am a "sportsaholic" person.... I am a very active person.. i exercise regularly.. i play table tennis every Monday and Thursday, football every Wednesday, and go to gym every Saturday.....

all of those activities for me are for fun also.. and i never absent from doing that....
I really hope that my exercise can prevent my self from diabetes, because i think reducing sugar alone won't be enough....

well i think that's enough for me... and even though this blog is finished... i will keep maintaining my diet...... =D

The Transtheoretical Model

ok.. its me again.. and i will update my blog once more !!!.... hahaha.. =D

yeah... for today i succeed !!! i just drink Ais Kosong for the whole day !!! yiiipiiee :D

for today update, i want to use one of the theory from Health Psychology text book.. The Transtheoretical Model..

Basically this model try to explain a person changing habits for a healthier life through 5 stages......

and this is my current experience trying to change my diet... =D

1st stage is..... Precontemplation, meaning that the particular person does not want to change his/her habits... well I already pass this stage....... =D

2nd stage is..... Contemplation, meaning that the person already notice and aware of his/her unhealthy habits.... I already pass this one too... (yiipiiee... :D)

3rd stage is..... Preparation, where the person already intending to change the unhealthy habits.. in this stage both though and action already exist...

Well for me... i already in this stage.... I already thinking to reduce little by little my sugar intakes....

4th stage is.... ACTION, means doing the diet !!

oh yeah... currently doing it until now... I rarely drink sweet for my meal now.... and i really struggle to maintain it... which is related to the next stage....

5th stage is..... Maintenance, able to sustain the diet...... wow for this stage is really hard for me... sometimes I succeed, sometimes I fail... but I try my best !!! hahaha... =D

I am still planning to have my sugar level checked.... I hope I have time to do it....

very long update....

I know that I haven't update my blog since a while... my bad !!! kept forgetting this assignment.... =.=

By the way, I have already reduce my sugar intakes.. I'm rarely drink sweet during my meal... except for special occasional only... hehe.. and also that is not everyday..... maybe in the weekend if I go out with my friends......

still.. even though I have reduced it.. I still feel the same.. =.=
so I planned to see a doctor to have my sugar level checked......

so I will update my blog in daily basis right now.... so hope fully I won't forget to update it again....

EPIC FAIL !!!

FAIL... there is nothing else that can explain my progress but FAILURE.. haha..

I could not resist the desire to drink or eat something sweet.. I always drank soft drinks, teh tarik, milo, etc for my meals.. from breakfast, lunch, and dinner... even worse.. I went to Mc Donalds at midnight and had McFlurry and drank coke for two days !! (oh please forgive me.. ><)

on the last class.. we discussed about phases in our blog assignment..
ok.. there are two phases.. first is Baseline Phase, for this phase we were suggested just to observe, record, and made a chart about our unhealthy behavior. This in order to assess its frequency, form and the observations effects.

For me.. this phase is when the unhealthy habit occurs without trying to reduce it...

Second phase is Modification Phase..
which will last for 10 weeks and our personal goal that will applied to modify our unhealthy habit..

Alright.. time to flashback and see my progress during last week.. I was taking notes what i ate and drank for the last week.. :D

(the meal time that I wrote means that I drank soft drink during it.. :D)
  • 14 January 2010 = Lunch + Dinner.. (FAIL)
  • 15 January 2010 = Dinner + Mc Donalds (EPIC FAIL)
  • 16 January 2010 = Lunch (kind a FAIL)
  • 17 January 2010 = Lunch + Dinner + Mc Donalds (how to express this FAILURE?? :P)
  • 18 January 2010 = Dinner.. (FAIL)
  • 19 January 2010 = Lunch + Dinner.. (FAIL)
  • 20 January 2010 = Lunch + Dinner.. (FAIL)
  • 21 January 2010 = Lunch... (Still Fail)
OK.. so every day was failure for last week....
maybe it is hard for me to resist sweet.. maybe i will try to reduce it..
for this week.. I set up a target that I will drink soft drink or any kind of it for MAX. 3 days...

hmm.. I hope this will work.. hehe...

Starting the health blog !

Finally i'm going to start this health blog, as we can read above my topic for this blog is reducing my sugar intakes..

Yesterday at health psychology class, Mr. James told us that Salt, Sugar, Saturated Fat, Stress, and Smoking is our "time bomb" which can kill us someday in the future.

I choose sugar because sugar can cause diabetes which is one of top killers in the world and I also heard that diabetes is inherited. My late grandfather died from diabetes, worse my father also diagnosed almost had diabetes.

My mother always complain because every time I eat my meal I always drink soft drink such as Coca Cola, Pepsi, Ice lemon tea, etc. But I always ignored her.

Well now, I am taking health psychology in this semester and I want to have a healthy life that avoided from any kind of illnesses.

My steps are easy, I want to make sure that I reduce or even do not drink any soft drink everyday. And for additional I also want to exercise regularly like going to the gym, play basketball, football, etc.

Alright !!!
Time to start !!!

but.. for today I already failed..

I already drank Mango Juice and Teh Tarik for today.. hahaha..

Let's start from tomorrow..

I hope I can do it.. !!! haha..

I will update this blog regularly... so stay tune for more updates.. haha..
